Timi Frank Warns Against Actions That Could Undermine Nigeria’s Democracy Ahead of 2027

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has cautioned against any action capable of undermining Nigeria’s democratic process ahead of the 2027 general election, warning that such moves could trigger political instability.

Frank, in a statement issued on Sunday, alleged that there were plans to use legal and institutional means to prevent the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from participating in the next general election. He claimed such a move, if carried out, would amount to an attack on Nigeria’s multi-party democracy.

He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the judiciary and other relevant institutions to remain impartial and uphold the rule of law, while calling on political stakeholders to protect the country’s democratic values.

Frank also appealed to the international community to monitor political developments in Nigeria, insisting that all registered political parties should be allowed to participate freely in the electoral process. He further called on opposition leaders to remain united in defence of democracy ahead of the 2027 elections.
