Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1, has publicly rallied support for his daughter, Damilola Marshall, as she seeks election to the Lagos State House of Assembly in the 2027 general elections.
KWAM 1 made the gesture at an event involving Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat, where he presented his daughter to the politician and said, “I hand her over to you.”
The moment, captured in a video circulating on social media, showed Hamzat receiving the gesture with laughter while Damilola appeared amused by her father’s action. The musician was also seen singing in Yoruba during the interaction.
Damilola is seeking to represent Surulere Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly and had earlier declared her intention to contest the seat in March 2026.
A lawyer with 12 years of professional experience, she said her career had given her an understanding of governance, justice and the concerns of members of her community.
She has also expressed a commitment to representing young people and contributing to the development of her constituency if elected.
Damilola currently serves as Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, further placing her within the state’s political and administrative structure.
Her political ambition has also received an important boost within the APC, as reports indicate that she secured the party’s ticket for the Surulere Constituency II Assembly race earlier in the year.
