Police in Kwara State have launched an investigation into the killing of a farmer whose lifeless body was discovered with severe machete wounds on his farmland in Isin Local Government Area of the state. Authorities say efforts are underway to identify and arrest those responsible for the attack.
The victim, identified as Kayode Alabi, reportedly left his home to work on his farm but failed to return, prompting concerns among relatives and residents. A search party later found his body on the farmland with multiple injuries believed to have been inflicted with a sharp object.
The incident was reported to the police, who immediately deployed officers to the scene. The victim’s body was evacuated and deposited at a morgue for an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.
Confirming the development, the Kwara State Police Command said detectives have commenced a full-scale investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the killing. The command assured residents that every effort is being made to track down the perpetrators and ensure they face justice.
The police also urged members of the public with useful information that could assist the investigation to come forward, assuring them that any information provided would be treated with confidentiality.
