The Nigeria Police Force has arrested at least 13 suspects during nationwide operations targeting violent crimes, including homicide, gun-related offences, child defilement and indecent assault.
The arrests were disclosed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, in the police’s State-by-State Executive Summary of operational successes recorded between August 30 and 31.
According to the police, the operations also resulted in the recovery of firearms and ammunition as security operatives intensified efforts to tackle criminal activities across the country.
A major breakthrough recorded during the operations was the rescue of all passengers abducted after bandits intercepted a passenger truck in Zamfara State.
The victims were reportedly rescued unharmed, according to the police statement.
The latest operations highlight the ongoing nationwide crackdown on violent crimes, with police formations in different states pursuing suspects linked to murder, child-related offences and other serious crimes.
The arrests and recoveries form part of the Nigeria Police Force’s continuing efforts to disrupt criminal networks, apprehend suspects and strengthen security across the country.
