The Osun State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with separate alleged violent incidents, including attempted murder, assault and an invasion of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
The development was reported by The PUNCH, which said four of the suspects were arrested in Modakeke, Ife East Local Government Area, over alleged conspiracy, attempted murder, assault occasioning harm and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms.
The four suspects were identified as Olufemi Olatunji, 39; Ajayi Idowu, 31; Akingbala Oluwakemi, 40; and Adekunle Basirat, 40.
Police operatives reportedly apprehended them at about 2am on August 9, 2026, following a petition submitted to the Commissioner of Police.
The arrests form part of ongoing police operations aimed at tackling violent crime and maintaining security across the state, particularly as Osun prepares for its governorship election.
The remaining suspects were arrested in connection with an alleged invasion of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, with police investigations continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
