The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State has criticised Governor Francis Nwifuru over his recent comment about dealing with opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general election.
The party described the governor’s remark as unacceptable and accused him of using harsh language against political opponents.
The Ebonyi PDP said political differences should not lead to threats or actions that could undermine democracy in the state.
The party also questioned the governor’s reported relationship with opposition politicians, saying his actions should be explained to the people of Ebonyi State.
According to Vanguard, the PDP maintained that opposition parties have the right to operate and participate in elections without intimidation.
The party urged the governor to focus on governance and allow political parties to campaign freely ahead of the 2027 elections.
The development comes as political activities continue to increase across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general election.
The PDP said it would continue to defend its members and supporters while participating in the political process in Ebonyi State.
