The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised opposition parties for failing to meet the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline for submitting candidates for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections, describing the development as evidence that they are unprepared to govern Nigeria.
According to the ruling party, while it successfully uploaded the particulars of all its presidential, vice-presidential, Senate and House of Representatives candidates before the July 11 deadline, several opposition parties failed to do so despite having fewer candidates to process.
In a statement, the APC argued that the inability of opposition parties to comply with INEC’s timetable raises questions about their organisational capacity and readiness for the 2027 general elections. The party maintained that meeting electoral deadlines is a basic requirement for any political organisation seeking to govern the country.
