Labour Party (LP) chieftains in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State have reaffirmed their support for Governor Alex Otti and constituted three strategic committees to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The resolution was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting chaired by the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, where party leaders commended Otti’s administration for ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Abia International Airport, the Umuomaiukwu Smart School and road projects in Nsulu.
The stakeholders resolved to intensify grassroots mobilisation and voter sensitisation while promoting unity within the party. They also pledged support for all Labour Party candidates in future elections, stressing that unity and collective responsibility are key to the party’s success.
To implement the resolutions, the forum established an Empowerment Committee, a Voter Education and Sensitisation Committee, and a Mobilisation Committee to coordinate empowerment programmes, voter awareness and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 polls.
The meeting also welcomed assurances that compensation for residents affected by the Abia International Airport land acquisition had been approved and urged the state government to accelerate infrastructure projects and improve electricity supply in Nsulu.
