Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has asked the Presidency to explain the reported $460,000 forfeiture involving President Bola Tinubu instead of attacking his United States-based lobbyist.
Atiku made the statement in response to the Presidency’s criticism of a lobbying firm linked to his political activities.
The former vice president said the Presidency should focus on explaining the circumstances surrounding the forfeiture rather than attacking individuals working with him.
He questioned why attention was being shifted to his lobbyist instead of addressing questions surrounding the reported forfeiture.
Atiku has continued to challenge the Tinubu administration on issues surrounding transparency and accountability ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The development comes as political activities increase ahead of the 2027 election, with Atiku expected to be one of the major challengers to President Tinubu.
