Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has vowed to resist any attempt to undermine the will of voters in the state, saying his supporters would respond to intimidation through lawful and democratic means.
Adeleke made the statement following a campaign visit to Ayedaade, where he said his campaign team was welcomed by a large crowd of party members and supporters.
The governor described the reception as evidence of continued support for his administration’s continuity agenda as the August 15 governorship election approaches.
He said his supporters had remained resilient despite what he described as repeated provocations, stressing that the campaign would not be intimidated regardless of the source.
Adeleke also defended his administration’s record, saying its achievements across various sectors were visible and measurable.
According to him, his government has sought to improve governance in the state through people-centred policies, prudent management of public resources and projects aimed at improving residents’ welfare.
As the election draws closer, the governor urged his supporters to remain peaceful, vigilant and focused, saying unity, discipline and high voter turnout would be the appropriate response to intimidation.
He called on supporters to protect what he described as the mandate of his administration through democratic participation and continue working towards what he described as a greater Osun.
