The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District has endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, and all other party candidates for the 2027 general elections.
According to Punch Newspaper, the endorsement was announced on Monday in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, Festus Ahon, following the Delta Central APC Stakeholders’ Strategic Meeting held at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Conference Centre in Effurun.
The statement said party leaders, stakeholders, and members unanimously backed the candidates while calling for unity and intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls.
Chief O’tega Emerhor, a founding leader of the APC in Delta State, moved the motion for the endorsement, which was seconded by Hon. Halims Agoda. Emerhor commended President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori for what he described as impactful policies and programmes benefiting Nigerians and Deltans.
The motion was put to a voice vote by the Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, and was unanimously adopted by party members.
Speaking at the meeting, Arenyeka said the stakeholders’ engagements across Delta State’s three senatorial districts were initiated after the State Working Committee reviewed party activities and resolved to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He described the Delta Central meeting as evidence that the party’s strategy was yielding positive results, noting that the attendance of key political figures reflected growing unity within the APC.
Arenyeka also praised Governor Oborevwori for efforts to reconcile aggrieved members and strengthen the party’s structures across the state. He welcomed defectors from other political parties, assuring them of equal opportunities and full integration into the APC.
Earlier, the APC Chairman in Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, said Oborevwori’s emergence as the party’s governorship candidate reflected the confidence members had in his leadership and performance.
