Former Osun State Deputy Governor, Iyiola Omisore, has been appointed into the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.
Omisore is among the 276 members named by the party to coordinate campaign activities for its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the poll.
The campaign council will be chaired by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, while Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and several APC governors are expected to play key roles in the campaign.
Also included in the council is Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, alongside former governors, members of the National Working Committee, lawmakers and other party leaders drawn from across the country.
The APC said the council will be inaugurated before the commencement of full-scale campaigns for the governorship election, as the party intensifies efforts to reclaim Osun State.
The August 15 election is expected to be keenly contested, with the APC seeking to unseat the incumbent administration through its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
