Oshiomhole Accuses Akpabio of Breaching Senate Truce Agreement

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of breaching a truce agreement between them after the latter made a light-hearted reference to a previous controversy involving the former Edo State governor during plenary.

Oshiomhole interrupted proceedings to remind the Senate President that they had agreed to end public exchanges over past incidents.

“I want to report to this House that the Senate President and I signed a truce of no more hostilities, but he has breached that agreement,” Oshiomhole said, drawing laughter from fellow senators.

Responding, Akpabio acknowledged the agreement and apologised to Oshiomhole, assuring him that there would be no further references to the previous controversy.

“Sorry, we have a truce. Agreement is agreement. Oshiomhole is my brother, friend and colleague,” Akpabio said. He also assured senators that the leadership of the Senate would continue to protect every member of the chamber.
