The senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Olubiyi Fadeyi, has returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerging as the party’s senatorial candidate for the 2027 general election.
Fadeyi confirmed his return to the PDP during a telephone interview, stating that he now belongs to the faction led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The lawmaker also disclosed that he had formally notified the Senate of his defection and confirmed that he would contest the 2027 Senate election on the PDP platform for the Osun Central Senatorial District.
Fadeyi had defected from the PDP to the APC in 2025 alongside four other National Assembly members. However, he failed to secure the APC ticket for the 2027 election after losing the party’s primary to Adekunle Adegoke (SAN).
