The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has commended its 2023 presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, and members of its National Working Committee for remaining loyal to the party despite its defeat in the last general election.
According to Punch Newspaper, the SDP National Chairman, Sadiq Gombe, gave the commendation during a press conference in Abuja.
Gombe praised Adebayo for refusing to defect to another political party after losing the 2023 presidential election, noting that he instead remained committed to rebuilding the SDP.
He also commended members of the party’s National Working Committee for standing by the party through internal and external challenges, describing their loyalty as a major factor in the SDP’s survival and growth.
The SDP chairman expressed confidence that the party would present credible candidates for the 2027 general elections and continue to strengthen its structure across the country.
Adebayo was the SDP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, which was won by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
