Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has relieved six commissioners of their appointments as part of a cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening his administration.
According to Punch Newspaper, the development was announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Labaran Magaji, after the State Executive Council meeting held on Tuesday in Lafia.
The affected commissioners headed the Ministries of Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, as well as Security and Sundry Matters.
Magaji explained that the commissioners were asked to step aside to create room for fresh ideas and improve governance in the remaining months of the administration.
He emphasized that the decision was not a reflection of poor performance, noting that the government appreciated the commitment and hard work of the affected commissioners during their service.
“The adjustment is intended to rejig the system, inject fresh energy into the administration and ensure that the mandate given to Governor Abdullahi Sule is fully delivered within the remaining period of this administration,” he said.
Governor Sule also dismissed speculations of a full cabinet dissolution, clarifying that the exercise was only a limited reshuffle involving select strategic changes.
The reshuffle is expected to pave the way for new appointments as the Sule administration seeks to consolidate ongoing projects and improve service delivery across the state.
