The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has assured residents that the August 15 governorship election will be conducted in a peaceful atmosphere free from intimidation and harassment.
Oyebamiji gave the assurance during his campaign tour of the Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency, where he addressed party supporters in Okuku.
He urged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) during the ongoing distribution exercise and keep them safe ahead of the election.
The APC candidate dismissed fears that the poll could be marred by violence, stressing that no individual or group would be allowed to intimidate voters or prevent them from exercising their constitutional rights.
Oyebamiji also warned against the sale of PVCs, describing the voter card as the people’s power and licence to participate in the democratic process.
He assured residents that security agencies would deal decisively with anyone caught harassing or threatening voters during the election.
The Osun governorship election is scheduled to hold on August 15, 2026, with several political parties fielding candidates for the poll.
