The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that he regularly asks his wife to pray that President Bola Tinubu continues to support his administration, saying such backing is crucial for effective governance.
Wike made the remarks during the inauguration of the Water Supply Network to Bwari Satellite Town in the Bwari Area Council, where he reflected on the importance of presidential support in carrying out government projects. He noted that his experience as a former governor and minister had shown that no minister could perform effectively without the confidence and backing of the President.
According to the FCT minister, while he considers himself not particularly good at praying, his wife is deeply prayerful, prompting him to ask her every day to continue praying that President Tinubu does not withdraw his support from the FCT Administration.
Wike also highlighted the achievements of the FCT Administration, stating that it has officially inaugurated 50 projects and plans to commission 10 more before January 2027. He attributed the pace of development to the support received from President Tinubu and pledged that the administration would not disappoint Nigerians.
The minister maintained that the essence of governance is to improve the lives of citizens, adding that the ongoing projects across the Federal Capital Territory are aimed at delivering better infrastructure and public services to residents.
