Accord Party governorship candidate in Oyo State, Oriyomi Hamzat, has dismissed claims that he endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), insisting he remains committed to the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Hamzat, in a statement posted on his X account, described a viral video portraying him as supporting the APC candidate as misleading. He explained that the footage was recorded on June 21, 2025, before he joined the Accord Party and before Oyebamiji emerged as the APC governorship candidate.
According to Hamzat, the video was taken during the inauguration of his fan club in Ikire, Apomu and Ikoyi, where representatives of Oyebamiji attended the event and made a donation. He argued that his remarks were taken out of context and are now being used to create a false political narrative.
He urged the public to disregard the recycled video, describing the attempt to link him with the APC candidate as dishonest propaganda, while reaffirming his support for Governor Adeleke’s second-term bid in the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
