The Zamfara State chapter of the Action Alliance (AA) has appealed for calm following the attack on the party’s 2027 presidential candidate, Aare Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, describing the incident as a threat to Nigeria’s democratic process.
The party’s state chairman, Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, condemned the attack in a statement issued on Sunday, insisting that political differences should never be resolved through violence. According to Daily Post, he described the assault as “cowardly” and urged security agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible.
Shinkafi stressed that the attack must not discourage political participation or undermine the country’s democratic values, calling on supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
He also urged the Federal Government and relevant security agencies to strengthen protection for political actors ahead of the 2027 general elections to prevent similar incidents.
