Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on residents of the Ondo South Senatorial District to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, in Saturday’s senatorial by-election. Faduyile is a former president of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
Speaking at the APC’s final campaign rally in Okitipupa, the governor, represented by his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, described Faduyile as the most qualified candidate for the position, citing his experience, leadership qualities and capacity to represent the interests of the district at the National Assembly.
Aiyedatiwa noted that the by-election is being conducted to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of former Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations. He urged voters to turn out peacefully and ensure their votes count during the exercise.
The governor also stressed the need to sustain what he described as quality representation for the district, arguing that Ondo South should continue to be represented by individuals with proven competence and the ability to attract development.
He further expressed confidence in the APC’s growing popularity in the state and reiterated the party’s commitment to mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
