The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will retain control of Ekiti State in the forthcoming governorship election, insisting that its strong grassroots presence and the performance of Governor Biodun Oyebanji give it a clear advantage over its rivals.
Yilwatda made the assertion during the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council for the Ekiti governorship election. He stated that the party remains the most formidable political force in the state and across the country, adding that its achievements in government continue to attract support from voters.
The APC chairman praised Governor Oyebanji’s administration for its efforts in infrastructure development, education, healthcare and social welfare, arguing that the governor’s performance has earned him widespread acceptance among residents of the state.
Yilwatda also highlighted the party’s extensive political structure, noting that APC members and supporters are actively mobilising across local government areas and wards to ensure a successful outing at the polls. He maintained that the party possesses the organisation, experience and support base required to secure victory.
He urged members of the campaign council to remain committed and work diligently ahead of the election, stressing that unity and effective mobilisation would be crucial to achieving the party’s objective.
The APC leadership expressed optimism that the party would record another electoral success in Ekiti, describing the forthcoming governorship contest as an opportunity to consolidate the gains of the current administration and strengthen its political dominance in the state.
