The race for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election gathered momentum on Wednesday as thousands of Yewa indigenes and stakeholders from Ogun West publicly endorsed the governorship aspiration of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Oladipupo Adebutu.
The endorsement came during a well-attended gathering in Yewaland, where community leaders, youth groups, women and party supporters pledged to mobilise support for Adebutu, insisting that Ogun West deserves quality leadership capable of uniting the state and accelerating development.
The stakeholders argued that Adebutu has maintained a longstanding relationship with the people of Ogun West and possesses the experience and leadership qualities needed to govern the state effectively.
They also stressed the need for equity in the state’s political arrangement, maintaining that the region should play a significant role in determining the next governor.
Responding to the endorsement, Adebutu expressed appreciation for the overwhelming show of support, describing it as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in him by the people.
The former governorship candidate assured supporters that, if elected, his administration would prioritise inclusive governance, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and improved welfare for residents across the state.
