The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he is prepared to face the political consequences of his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Wike said he believes he would become one of the first political targets if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar or Peter Obi defeats Tinubu in the next presidential election.
Speaking during a media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Wike said his strong commitment to Tinubu’s re-election had made him a major target of the opposition.
“I will be the first politician that I think they will come after. I will be the first politician. I know they will come for my head,” Wike said.
The FCT minister, however, insisted that the possibility of facing political consequences would not stop him from working for the President’s victory.
“Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the president’s reelection. When I am eating, I think about the president’s reelection. Everything I am doing now is about the president’s reelection,” he stated.
Wike said he remained unbothered by the criticism and attacks directed at him over his political position, maintaining that his priority was to support Tinubu’s return to office in 2027.
