Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has rewarded Osagiobare Daniel Osahenrumwen, the fourth-highest scorer in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with ₦1 million and a full university scholarship in recognition of his outstanding academic performance.
Daniel, an indigene of Edo State, scored 368 in the 2026 UTME, emerging as the highest-performing candidate from the state and the fourth-best nationwide.
Presenting the cash reward, Idahosa said the gesture was aimed at encouraging academic excellence and inspiring other young Nigerians to strive for outstanding achievements.
He also assured the student of the Edo State Government’s commitment to funding his university education, describing education as a key pillar of the state’s development agenda.
The deputy governor commended Daniel for making Edo proud through his exceptional performance and urged him to remain focused as he pursues higher education.
