A group of All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains has petitioned the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), seeking disciplinary action against former Benue State chairman, Austin Agada, over alleged anti-party activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group, operating under the APC Solidarity Group, accused Agada of supporting candidates of other political parties in Benue despite the APC having its own candidates for the elections.
In the petition dated October 2, 2026, and signed by the group’s National Organising Secretary, Sa’idu Muhammad, the APC leaders alleged that Agada endorsed Senator Abba Moro of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 senatorial election.
The petitioners also alleged that Agada publicly stated during a television interview that he would not campaign for the APC governorship candidate in Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
The group further accused the former chairman of being involved in the Strategic Alliance for Tinubu 2027, popularly known as the Rainbow Coalition in Benue, which brings together political actors from different parties in support of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid.
The petitioners, however, stressed that their concern was not Agada’s support for Tinubu but whether his activities undermine APC candidates and the party’s recognised structures in Benue.
They asked the NWC to establish an investigative committee, invite Agada to respond to the allegations and, if found culpable, refer the matter to a disciplinary committee.
The group also requested that any disciplinary action taken against Agada be made public.
