A political support group, the Azerbaijan Movement, has mobilised about 600 supporters in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State for President Bola Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group held a solidarity walk through major streets in the area, with APC members, women leaders, youths and other supporters participating in the procession.
The walk began from Elliot and passed through several streets before ending at Nationwide.
Speaking on the exercise, the coordinator of the movement, Abayomi Omotayo, said the mobilisation was aimed at strengthening grassroots support for the APC ahead of the elections.
He said the group was particularly focused on mobilising residents to support Tinubu’s bid for another term in office.
Omotayo said the movement believed the President’s policies were laying the foundation for sustainable development and urged residents to support his administration.
The group also declared its support for Adewale Adedeji, the APC candidate for Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly election.
According to Omotayo, Adedeji had contributed to the constituency through initiatives in education, infrastructure and empowerment.
