The spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council, Ima Niboro, has urged FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and APC governors to stop their public exchanges and concentrate on mobilising voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Niboro made the call on Wednesday while appearing on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, following a disagreement between Wike and APC governors over his proposed Rainbow Coalition.
The APC governors, led by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma, had rejected any political arrangement they believed could undermine the party or President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Wike subsequently criticised the governors, describing them as “politically lazy” and arguing that his support for Tinubu should not prevent other political parties from fielding candidates in state and legislative elections.
Reacting to the dispute, Niboro described the disagreement as a “quarrel among siblings” and urged the parties involved to shift their attention from public exchanges to direct engagement with voters.
“Stop talking, go and work,” Niboro said, urging political leaders to strengthen their structures and demonstrate their influence at the grassroots.
He called on them to engage voters directly in communities, streets and marketplaces rather than continue exchanging accusations through the media.
“All this shouting is not taking anybody anywhere. Go and work. Go and establish your authority on your political base,” he said.
Niboro added that his position was not that the political actors should abandon their respective structures, but that they should focus on demonstrating their support for Tinubu through grassroots mobilisation.
