Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has mourned the death of former Director-General of the State Security Service, Chief Albert Horsfall, describing him as a patriot and disciplinarian.
Fubara, in a condolence statement issued on Sunday, described the late Horsfall as an embodiment of quiet strength and intelligence who served Nigeria with dedication, professionalism and integrity.
The governor said Horsfall’s contributions to national security and stability remained a benchmark for those who succeeded him.
Fubara noted that Horsfall was more than a former security chief to Rivers State, describing him as an elder statesman, mentor and ambassador of the state’s values of service, honour and excellence.
He said the death of Horsfall had deprived the country of a patriot, bridge-builder and man of integrity.
The governor extended his condolences to Horsfall’s immediate family, the Horsfall family of Buguma, the security community and Nigerians mourning the former SSS boss.
Fubara also prayed for the repose of Horsfall’s soul and urged that his legacy of service and patriotism continue to inspire future generations.
