APC Primary Crisis Driven by Personal Ambition, Not Public Interest — Ex-Aspirant

A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, has described the lingering crisis arising from the party’s governorship primary as a battle fueled by personal ambition rather than the interests of the people.

Sulaiman argued that politicians should place governance and development above political power struggles, stressing that residents expect leaders to focus on solving pressing economic and social challenges instead of engaging in prolonged internal disputes. He maintained that political office should be seen as a platform for service rather than personal gain.

Despite the controversy surrounding the APC primary, the former aspirant expressed confidence that the party would overcome its internal disagreements and remain competitive ahead of the 2027 general elections. He urged aggrieved members to embrace reconciliation and work towards strengthening the party.
