Politician and former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has portrayed Republican candidate, Donald Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 US presidential election as “an inspiring parable of courage in the face of adversity”.
Trump crushed the Democrat candidate, a sitting VP Kamala Harris, to be reappointed as the 47th president of the United States of America.
In his salutary message, Atiku lauded Americans, taking note that Trump’s success was a timeless update that democracy, with all its trials and tribulations, remains a power for good in the world.
Atiku’s statement on social media says “I closely followed the presidential election in the United States of America, watching with bated breath as the nation decided its future. It is with even greater satisfaction that I now reflect on the result, which heralds a resounding victory for President Donald Trump.
“This victory, definitely will remain as an enduring testament to the resilience and vitality of the democratic process – a timeless update that democracy, with all its trials and tribulations, remains a power for good in the world.
President Trump’s political journey, set apart by his battles and wins, will serve as an inspiring parable of courage the difficulty notwithstanding a lesson in the art of rising after every fall, and ultimately, emerging victorious.
“As the world celebrates in the euphoria of his remarkable comeback, it is to be hoped that President Trump will continue his undaunted advocacy for credible elections worldwide and stay unfaltering in dismantling anti-democratic forces wherever they might prowl.
“The lesson for us in Nigeria is the integrity of the process that ensures a credible outcome. It is the expectation of every Nigerian that the Trump administration will stand fearless in guaranteeing free and fair elections in Nigeria and different places in the world.
