Former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido is qualified to run for the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, according to Bode George, a member of the party’s board of trustees.
George made this statement on Tuesday when answering questions during an appearance in an interview.
After Lamido purportedly vowed to sue the PDP for denying him the chance to obtain a nomination form to run for National Chairman, he made this comment.
“Just because PDP leaders came together and backed a consensus candidate does not mean that other candidates would not run.
“You want to make the process seamless. It’s an internal dynamic. We have done this in the past and the party did not tell anybody that he or she cannot contest.
“Sule Lamido has the right to compete. He can go and get the form, fill the form and follow the normal process and appear on the day of the convention. We will vote,” George declared.
