The Cross River fake doctor job scam has led to the arrest of a suspected fraudster who allegedly impersonated a medical doctor and defrauded job seekers of N500,000 under the guise of securing employment opportunities.
According to Punch Newspaper, the suspect was arrested by the police in Cross River State following complaints from victims who claimed they were promised jobs in exchange for payment.
Police authorities said the suspect allegedly presented himself as a qualified doctor and used the false identity to convince unsuspecting applicants to part with money.
Investigators revealed that the Cross River fake doctor job scam involved collecting payments from victims with assurances that they would be offered employment, only for the promises to remain unfulfilled.
The police said efforts are ongoing to identify other possible victims and determine whether additional suspects were involved in the fraudulent scheme.
