The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ife Federal Constituency of Osun State has expressed a vote of no confidence in the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi; the former National Secretary of the party, Wale Oladipo; and the Ife East party Chairman, Olasunkanmi Makinde, due to alleged anti-party activities.

This resolution was made in a communiqué released following the PDP Ife Federal Constituency meeting that took place on Monday evening at the residence of the Osun East Senatorial leader in Ile-Ife.

The party criticized Adewusi and Oladipo for conducting meetings with the member of the House of Representatives from Ife, Taofeek Ajilesoro, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The communiqué, which was endorsed by the party’s Financial Secretary, Adesoji Adegoke; former Deputy Speaker, Ropo Oyewale; and 27 other individuals, including the Commissioners for Education and Inter-Party Affairs, Dipo Eluwole and Biyi Odunlade, respectively, indicated that the actions of these leaders pose a threat to the party in Ifeland.

In a separate statement, the Chairman of the party in the state, Sunday Bisi, has urged the dissatisfied stakeholders to prioritize peace. Bisi emphasized that the party cannot afford a crisis at this time.

In another development, a sociopolitical group based in the United Kingdom, known as the AMBO Movement, has called upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC to endorse the governorship candidacy of Bola Oyebamiji, the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), for the 2026 elections in Osun State. This appeal was made in a communiqué signed by the group’s Chairman, Mayowa Olabisi, and Public Relations Officer, Olawale Mikali, yesterday.
The group also urged the leadership of the APC both at the state and national levels to support Oyebamiji’s ambitions. Following extensive consultations and an assessment of the political situation in Osun State, the group unanimously advocated for the backing of Oyebamiji.

It was stated that the decision was founded on Oyebamiji’s “demonstrated capability, extensive popularity, and unparalleled financial expertise.” The organization, which asserted that Oyebamiji’s strategic financial guidance during his time as finance commissioner resulted in the resolution of pension arrears, the reinstatement of full salary profiles for workers, and the establishment of bond-based payment schemes that enhanced the state’s fiscal stability, declared:
“We call upon the APC leadership to listen to the people’s voice and support a candidate who represents competence, empathy, and continuity.

“The moment for strategic selection is upon us, and Oyebamiji serves as the symbol of hope for the future of Osun State.”
