Elders of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State have urged party members to put aside their differences and work together for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
The Chairman of the APC Elders Forum in the state, Demola Ijabiyi, made the call during a meeting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, according to Punch.
Ijabiyi said the party needed unity and cooperation among its members if it wanted to secure strong support for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
He warned against focusing on internal political battles, saying the party’s attention should be directed towards mobilising voters and expanding support for the President.
The APC elder said every genuine Tinubu supporter and political leader capable of mobilising voters should be given a role in the campaign.
He also appealed to members to stop seeing political developments as a competition over who controls the party or who has defeated another leader.
Ijabiyi said there would be time for members to pursue their personal political ambitions, but the immediate task should be to support Tinubu’s re-election.
He stressed that the presidential campaign should be bigger than the political differences among APC leaders and members in Ondo State.
The elders therefore called on all members of the party to work together and focus on delivering a strong result for Tinubu in the 2027 election.
