The newly sworn-in member representing Dawakin-Kudu Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, Yusuf Datti-Hussaini, has pledged to prioritise the welfare and development of his constituents.
Datti-Hussaini made the commitment on Tuesday after taking his oath of office, promising to provide effective and transparent representation during his tenure.
The lawmaker said he would build on the achievements of his predecessor by following up on motions already raised on the floor of the Assembly and introducing new ones aimed at attracting meaningful projects to his constituency.
He also urged residents of Dawakin-Kudu to remain engaged with his activities in the Assembly, saying they should monitor proceedings and bring their concerns to his attention.
“I will not be here to sleep or abandon my seat. I will make sure I fully represent the people of my area in order to uplift their livelihoods,” Datti-Hussaini said.
He further assured his constituents that he would work to the best of his ability to improve their welfare and contribute to the development of Kano State.
Datti-Hussaini was elected to fill the vacant Dawakin-Kudu State Constituency seat after the former occupant moved to the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, the Kano State House of Assembly confirmed the reappointment of Gambo Sallau, a former Speaker of the Assembly, as Chairman of the Kano State Assembly Service Commission
