NEC Meeting Sparks: Police Assume Control Of PDP Secretariat In Abuja

Armed police officers have taken control of Wadata Plaza, the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja, as tensions rise regarding the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting scheduled for today.

Additionally, the police prevented a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Maina Chiroma, from entering the secretariat premises.

A party official, who spoke to a reporter from Channels Television off camera, indicated that the police were dispatched to halt the planned NEC Expanded Caucus Meeting.

While some party staff members were initially permitted to enter the secretariat without any opposition from the police, they were subsequently asked to leave.

Journalists were also instructed to vacate the secretariat premises.

Several police officers were observed cordoning off Dalaba Street, the road leading to Wadata Plaza.
