Former senator and political figure, Dino Melaye, has urged electoral stakeholders to uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic process, warning against any attempt to undermine the will of the people through electoral manipulation.

Speaking while monitoring developments during the Ekiti governorship election, Melaye stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and adherence to electoral laws as Nigeria gradually shifts attention toward the 2027 general elections.

He argued that public confidence in democratic institutions depends largely on the credibility of elections, noting that any perception of unfairness could have far-reaching implications for political stability and governance.

Melaye called on electoral officials, security agencies, political parties, and citizens to play their respective roles in ensuring that votes cast by Nigerians are accurately reflected in the final outcome of elections.
