The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of an armed robbery and carjacking syndicate operating in the Alakuko area of the state.
The suspects were reportedly tracked and arrested following credible intelligence gathered by police operatives on the activities of the alleged criminal group.
Police said preliminary investigations showed that the suspects allegedly specialised in snatching vehicles and robbing residents of their valuables. A search conducted after their arrest led to the recovery of three locally made firearms and eight rounds of live ammunition.
The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other alleged members of the syndicate still at large.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Tijani Fatai, said the command remained committed to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
