Kaduna ADC Expels Deputy Chairman, Members For Alleged Misconduct

The State Executive Committee (SEC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has unanimously decided to expel its Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, along with eight other members from the party.

This expulsion was part of the resolutions made by the party’s organ during its meeting held in Kaduna.

The party specifically accused the expelled members, including the state Publicity Secretary, Idris Musa, of serious misconduct such as insubordination, conducting illegal and secret meetings aimed at usurping leadership, falsifying documents, and extorting party members, all of which could potentially damage the reputation of the ADC.

Among those expelled are the State Vice Chairman for Zone 1, Sulaiman Abdullahi; the State Treasurer, Gambo Sani; the State Financial Secretary, Magaji Maiwada; and the State Legal Adviser, Danlami Dabai Musa.

Also included in the expulsion list were the State Coordinator of the PWD, Saura Muhammed; the State Deputy Youth Leader, Ibrahim Muhammed; and Mansur Gaga.

In a press conference following the meeting, the party Chairman, Elder Patrick Ambut, emphasized that the leadership of the ADC in Kaduna State is dedicated to maintaining peace, discipline, and adherence to the rule of law as outlined in the party’s constitution.

Ambut clarified that the actions of the deputy chairman represented an abuse of office and impersonation, asserting that these actions led to discord within the party in the state and the broader North West zone.

“As law-abiding members of the ADC party, we are devoted to upholding the Constitution of the party and preserving the integrity of our party’s structure,” he stated.

He asserted that the deputy chairman’s actions constitute a severe breach of the ADC Constitution and violate established party protocols.

“The deputy chairman proceeded without following proper procedures, as he does not possess the constitutional authority to call any meetings or issue such directives,” emphasized the ADC chairman.
While responding to inquiries from journalists, Ambut revealed that the State Executive Committee (SEC), the Local Government Chairmen of the party throughout the state, and other present stakeholders collectively concurred that the Deputy State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Alex Tagwai, should promptly take on the responsibilities of the State Publicity Secretary in an acting role until formal changes are implemented in due time.
