Former members of both state and national assemblies affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have collectively endorsed Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate for the upcoming 2026 gubernatorial election.
Oyebamiji, who serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority, received the backing of over 50 former lawmakers representing all 26 State Constituencies, 9 Federal Constituencies, and 3 Senatorial Districts in the state. This support was expressed during interactive sessions held at the Ilerioluwa Campaign Office in Osogbo, where the former legislators reiterated their unwavering commitment to Oyebamiji’s candidacy.
They characterized him as an ideal candidate for the position, expressing confidence in his ability to lead in the 2026 election. Timothy Owoeye, the immediate past speaker, emphasized the lawmakers’ determination to actively support Oyebamiji’s campaign efforts leading up to and following the gubernatorial election. The gatherings included former lawmakers from the 1st to the 7th Assembly, as well as those who previously served in the National Assembly.
