The Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ali Bukar Dalori, expressed his commitment on Monday to fulfilling his new responsibilities with transparency, inclusiveness, and a unified purpose.

While addressing the members of the National Working Committee of the party in Abuja shortly after taking office, Dalori conveyed his gratitude for the ongoing support and loyalty shown to the party, emphasizing his readiness to collaborate with members as partners in the shared mission of preserving the party’s unity, discipline, and direction.

Dalori urged the members of the NEC to maintain a focus on the broader objectives, which include providing effective governance to the Nigerian populace, enhancing democracy within the party’s framework, and preparing for the future with clarity and resolve.

On Monday, the new acting APC National Chairman, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, officially took office and is currently leading a meeting of the National Working Committee at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

He remarked that as they gear up for the 2027 general elections, party members must start now to fortify the party’s internal mechanisms, reconnect with their grassroots, and revitalize their structures at all levels.

Dalori, who previously served as the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the APC, stepped into the role of acting chairman following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje from the position of national chairman.

Ganduje, hailing from the North-West zone, took over the leadership of the party in August 2023 after the resignation of his predecessor, Abdullahi Adamu, from the North-Central zone.

In a statement released on Saturday, the APC governors, under the auspices of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), collectively endorsed Ganduje’s resignation, stating that it was in line with the party’s “ongoing evolution”.

This resolution was reached as the PGF concluded a two-day strategic regional meeting in Benin City, Edo State, on Saturday, which was hosted by Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo.
