In light of the increasing insecurity in various regions of the country, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, urged the service chiefs yesterday to escalate their efforts against terrorists and other criminal elements that jeopardize the peace and stability of numerous communities.

He asserted that it is crucial to intensify the offensive against the actions of bandits and other terrorists that threaten the nation’s security and peace.

In a statement released in Osogbo, Oyintiloye, who previously served as the representative for Obokun State Constituency in the Osun House of Assembly, acknowledged that the security agencies were making every effort to address the situation, but emphasized that additional measures are necessary to halt the killings occurring in various parts of the country.

He expressed concern regarding the alarming rate of killings by bandits in Kwara, Borno, Zamfara, and Niger states, urging that the heads of security agencies must take decisive action against those perpetrating the killings and their backers.

Additionally, Timi Frank has called on President Bola Tinubu to consider a reshuffle of the security chiefs in light of the recent surge in attacks. The activist and former APC spokesperson advocated for a comprehensive review of the nation’s security leadership following the resurgence of violence and killings across several regions.

In a statement issued in Abuja yesterday, Frank characterized the ongoing violence as a national tragedy that requires immediate executive intervention.

He referenced recent reports of soldiers being killed in Borno State as indicative of ongoing security failures and demanded greater accountability in defense operations.

Frank, who currently serves as the Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East for the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), also recognized the increasing international concern regarding Nigeria’s security situation.

He praised U.S. President Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz for their recent statements emphasizing the necessity for enhanced safeguarding of civilians and human rights in Nigeria.
