Over 10,000 youths under the Ebonyi Youth Coalition have declared support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate, Chikaodili Ojimba, ahead of the 2027 Ebonyi North Senatorial election.
The coalition announced its position in a statement signed by its coordinator, Eze Francis, saying Ojimba had demonstrated experience in business, philanthropy and community development.
The group said its support was based on what it described as Ojimba’s record of empowering young people, supporting education and contributing to the development of communities across the senatorial district.
The youths said they wanted a senator capable of attracting investment, creating employment opportunities and promoting programmes that would improve the welfare of constituents.
They also highlighted Ojimba’s background as an entrepreneur, noting that he built his business after moving to Port Harcourt and later expanded his activities into other sectors.
According to the coalition, his philanthropic activities include scholarships for students, payment of medical bills and support for young entrepreneurs and students studying abroad.
The group also called on political leaders, traditional institutions and other stakeholders to allow voters to freely choose their preferred candidate during the election.
The coalition said the 2027 election would provide an opportunity for the people of Ebonyi North to elect a representative based on experience, service and capacity.
It further urged young people in the senatorial district to mobilise their communities and participate actively in the electoral process.
Ojimba is contesting the Ebonyi North senatorial seat on the APGA platform in the 2027 general elections.
