The Kwara Terror Victims have regained their freedom after terrorists reportedly released a pregnant woman and two children following the payment of a ransom by members of their community.
According to Vanguard, the victims were abducted during an attack on communities in Kwara State earlier this year. Community sources said residents raised funds and provided food items demanded by the terrorists before the captives were released.
The Kwara Terror Victims were said to have been freed after the community reportedly paid N6 million alongside food supplies, including bags of rice, groundnut oil, spaghetti, semovita, beverages, and other items requested by the kidnappers.
Residents described the development as a relief but expressed concern over the growing insecurity in the area, saying many families continue to live in fear of fresh attacks.
Community leaders called on the Federal Government and security agencies to strengthen security operations across affected communities to prevent further abductions and protect lives and property.
