The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has intensified efforts to challenge the court ruling nullifying its registration, with its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso and other top party leaders taking charge of the legal battle.
The party’s leadership concluded a series of strategy meetings involving National Leader Seriake Dickson, members of the National Working Committee and other stakeholders ahead of Monday’s appeal against the judgment. The NDC said it remains confident that the appellate court will overturn the ruling and restore its legal status.
Party officials urged members and supporters to remain calm, insisting that the legal challenge would not derail preparations for the 2027 general election. They maintained that the appeal is aimed at protecting the democratic rights of the party and its candidates.
The NDC also reaffirmed its commitment to participating in the 2027 elections, expressing optimism that the legal process would be resolved in its favour while calling on supporters to remain united throughout the proceedings.
