Mahdi Shehu, a human rights advocate and public analyst, has cautioned that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may soon experience the same demise as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that power based on injustice and conceit cannot last indefinitely.
Shehu posted the comment on his social media on Tuesday morning.
He made a stark parallel between the APC’s apparent rising disdain for Nigerians and the PDP’s 16-year rule ending.
According to him, “Whatever goes up must surely come down. Just as PDP rose and fell after its years of pride and betrayal, APC is now walking the same path.”
He remembered how the PDP eventually fell apart under its own weight, despite former PDP National Chairman Vincent Ogbulafor’s 2008 assertion that the party would rule Nigeria for 60 years.
“God showed them who truly owns power. The same will happen to APC if they don’t change,” he continued.
The APC, according to Mahdi Shehu, is destroying institutions, bullying people, and taking the nation for granted.
He warned that such arrogance always ends in disgrace.
Quoting the Bible, he remarked, “Psalm 37:10 says, ‘A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.’
