To allow eligible voters to pick up their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, has extended the current collection period in Anambra State till November 2.
The information was revealed in a statement released in Awka on Monday by Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, the state’s INEC Director of Voter Education and Publicity.
“The INEC has approved the extension of the ongoing collection of PVC in Anambra from October 29 to November 2.
“The decision was reached at a meeting of the commission held on October 27, following several appeals from citizens and stakeholders requesting additional time to enable eligible voters to collect their cards,” she said.
According to Eta-Messi, registered voters who have yet to pick up their PVCs are urged to do so at the collection locations located throughout the state’s 326 Registration Areas (Wards).
She said that everyone who registered during the state’s most recent Continuous Voter Registration, or CVR, was covered by the activity.
The director added that no proxy collection will be permitted and that the PVCs must be picked up in person.
