Kenneth Okonkwo, a former Labour Party member, has stated his confidence that President Bola Tinubu will be defeated by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the general elections of 2027.
Okonkwo stated this during an Interview on Monday.
He rejected the idea that the party’s performance in the by-elections held on August 16 could serve as a yardstick.
In the polls conducted across 16 constituencies in 12 states, the ADC failed to secure a single seat, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) clinched 12 seats in the National and State Assemblies.
Okonkwo insisted that the party’s chances were still bright in spite of this setback.
He claimed that “We stand a chance in every election in Nigeria,” and adding that the 2027 elections would serve as the party’s true test under the new leadership of former Senate President, David Mark.
“We are going to form the next government in Nigeria and send Tinubu to Bourdillon,” the Nollywood actor announced.
Regarding the party’s organization, Okonkwo said that the ADC is now well-established throughout the federation’s 36 states.
Additionally, he named Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, as the party’s top leader in Rivers State.
