Abubakar Sadiq Sa’adu Fakai, a former North-West Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared his resignation from the party, expressing concerns regarding its current trajectory and departure from its foundational principles.
In a letter directed to the APC Chairman of Mahuta Ward, located in the Fakai Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Fakai articulated that his choice was made after “deep reflection” and “solemn contemplation,” following what he referred to as “a period of profound introspection and earnest dialogue with my conscience.”
He stated, “I have cherished the ideals and foundational principles upon which our party was established, principles that once ignited hope for a more prosperous, united, and accountable Nigeria.”
The former member of the National Executive Committee indicated that his decision was reached after thorough discussions with family, community leaders, and constituents, all of whom, he claims, share increasing concerns regarding the APC’s inability to fulfill public expectations and maintain the commitment to good governance.
He remarked, “In honour of my conscience and in loyalty to the aspirations of those I represent, it has become imperative to part ways with the All Progressives Congress at this juncture.”
While Fakai did not disclose his forthcoming political plans, he conveyed his best wishes to the party and advocated for peace and progress in Nigeria.
